Monopoly Fans Help Set Guinness World Record

Monopoly players around the world teamed up to help set a Guinness World Record for the World's Largest Simultaneous Game of Monopoly. To set the record it is estimated that 3,361 players joined in the game from around the world on August 27th.
The final participant tally is pending verification from Guinness World Records. Fans played in cities around the world and online to help with the record setting attempt. A new version of Monopoly is also available for mobile phones.
"We are pleased that so many fans of the game from around the globe joined with us to celebrate the release of the new World Edition of MONOPOLY by setting a world record," said Helen Martin, Vice President of Global Marketing for MONOPOLY Brand. "We are thrilled with the enthusiasm that people have shown for this historic version of the game."
