A new usage tracking application from Matsch Systems called MobiNow is available that is a turnkey software as a service platform for tracking BlackBerry usage independent of the carrier. The software also takes advantage of GPS optionally.

The application generates a background cellular call record for each call and text message and at user-defined intervals; it uploads the record along with GPS data if wanted. This allows businesses to monitor corporate devices for abuse and keep track of employees.

"Generating carrier agnostic, real-time call records directly from the BlackBerry provides managers timely access to critical workforce management information useful in analyzing performance, customer support, and client billing," says Bob Matthews, chief executive officer, Matsch Systems, "but it is the turnkey implementation of the SaaS based application that makes it sweet.
