Toshiba announced a new projector today called the TLP-X100U that is only 4-pounds and uses 3LCD technology. The projector is under 3-inches high and offers a bright image. The entire projector is about the size of a hardback novel.
The device is compatible with closed captioning from DVD or TV and has a blackboard function that allows it to be projected onto dark backgrounds. The resolution is 1024 x 768 and it has a brightness of 2200 lumens. It can project a screen size of 30 to 300-inches from 2.9 to 35.9 feet. It supports resolutions up to 1080p. Pricing and availability are unknown.
"Toshiba added the slim, TLP-X100U 3LCD mobile projector with closed captioning to its lineup of projectors for use especially in education, professional settings or in noisy environments," said Jane Poon, product marketing manager, Digital Products Division, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc. "Toshiba is constantly bringing versatile, innovative presentation solutions to market to meet and exceed the needs of our customers, all at a low price point."
