iPhone users in certain cities can now get access to live traffic cameras on the iPhone via an application called Mobileyes. The application shows how traffic is moving and helps commuters avoid traffic jams.
The application covers several major US cities and more are coming. Cities covered now include -- Detroit, Hartford, Houston, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Knoxville, Los Angeles, New York, and Washington, D.C. The application can be changed between low, medium, and high-resolution images depending on the connection speed of the phone.
"We've been working to support the iPhone ever since Apple released its tool kit to developers," said Eric Joseph, president and chief operating officer, 3rd Dimension. "We hope to help the millions of fervent iPhone users, including myself, to plan the safest, fastest and most fuel efficient routes around town."
