LHC works and produces first Images

The LHC (aka Black Hole Maker was switched on a couple hours ago and the first beam of protons made the 27km roundtrip smashing into an absorbing device called collimator. An image of that event can be seen on the right.
Apparently the LHC worked like a charm to the surprise of the present physicists. Hey, it better works, it costs a fortune.
