ATI FirePro V8700, V3750 Launch

AMD has launched a pair of new professional graphics adapters in the FirePro line called the ATI FirePro V8700 and V3750. The V8700 provides a 40% performance gain in memory intensive applications for those using CAD and digital content creation pros.
The FirePro V3750 is an entry-level card in the pro graphics category. ATI says that the V3750 has a 30% gain in performance over the previous generation of entry level pro cards and with certain CAD applications the performance gain is nearly 40%. The V3750 has 320 share processing units. The V8700 uses GDDR5 memory and has 800 shader units. Pricing for the V8700 is $1499 and the V3750 goes for $199.
"Creative professionals requiring realistic lighting and shading of complex models and objects will see the difference with the powerful ATI FirePro V8700 graphics accelerator," said Janet Matsuda, senior director, AMD Professional Graphics. "These new product offerings are in keeping with what the ATI FirePro brand represents: delivering performance and features that matter to discerning engineers and designers."
