Since Apple bought P.A. Semi in April, the speculations about Apple's intention with the chip designers have run wild. Now a social network profile of an Apple employee gave away that Apple is indeed working on their own ARM based iPhone chip.
The LinkedIn profile made it on a blog at the NY Times.
Of course nobody knows what Apple exactly tries to accomplish with their own chip design. Enhancing performance or reducing energy consumption. The designs need to be much better than what ARM plans to develop anyway.
