One of the things that the iPhone has lacked that other high-end phones offer is the ability to dial with voice commands. An application called iDialUDrive is being offered for $0.99 that lets the iPhone dial automatically from a list of contacts.
The application uses the built-in contacts list. To use it you click on an application and it will dial the first number in a list. After the call is complete, another touch dials the second contact on the list.
This is far from a voice dial application, so the convenience is not really there for me. I guess if you are a businessperson and you know exactly whom you want to call while driving the application would work fine. For most people who start driving then want to call someone on the spur of the moment, the application will do nothing.
