PAC-MAN was one of the early arcade games that helped spawned gaming. The game was simple with a little yellow cheese wheel, some floating ghosts, and mazes. The game proved popular and was one of the titles that drove gamers to the Atari console and even spawned its own cartoon show.
Namco has announced that the game is available for the new Android powered G1 smartphone from T-Mobile. The best news is that you don’t have to raid your piggy bank for quarters. On the G1, the game has three control methods: swipe mode with control by swiping a finger, track mode using the track ball and accelerometer mode controlled by moving the phone. The game retails for $9.99.
“We are thrilled to launch PAC-MAN on the flagship Android-powered device,” said Scott Rubin, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Namco Networks. “To encourage consumers to checkout PAC-MAN on the G1, we are picking up the tab for the game. We want consumers to see how great PAC-MAN looks on this device and how well it plays on the Android platform.”
