T-Mobile and Google unveiled the first Android based phone yesterday dubbed T-Mobile G1 with Google. The T-Mobile G1 will go on sale on October 22nd for $179 with a 2-year customer agreement. Now the question is if the first Android phone is something you want to buy right away or if you should wait for the next generation. Some sites got their hands on the T-Mobile G1 and published their impressions which reveal both good and bad things about the G1.
The notion is that the Android platform has high potential, but the G1 might not be ready for casual users. Also the tight integration with your online Google account might be a hurdle for those that have their data on the desktop still and not on the Google servers. On the hardware side the touch screen does not support multi-touch like the iPhone.
More details in the hands-on G1 reviews of Engadget and Gizmodo. Update: See also our recent T-Mobile G1 Review and this T-Mobile G1 Review Round-up.
