Retail research firm NPD says that the Apple iPhone 3G is already the 2nd best selling mobile phone in the United States only topped by the Motorola RAZR V3.
The iPhone is the best selling smartphone in the period of June to August beating BlackBerry Curve, BlackBerry Pearl and the Palm Centro.
Analysts also say that Apple has surpassed the company's goal of selling 10 million iPhones in 2008. More details on AppleInsider.
It is pretty amazing for a smartphone to be the second most selling phone overall. Afterall there are tons of $0 deals for standard phones and customers need to switch to AT&T for the iPhone.
