If you want a media center computer and even the typical small form factor computer is too large for your needs, the Dell Studio Hybrid may be perfect for you. Despite the tiny 9-inch design that looks more like an external hard drive than a desktop computer, the machine is a full computer system.
Processors for the line start at Intel Pentium dual-core and go up to Intel Core 2 Duo CPUs. All versions run on windows Vista and feature DVI and HDMI out. Slot load DVD or Blu-ray drives are available and all units have 2GB of RAM or more. Base systems start at $499 and a fully loaded machine starts at $999.
For Whom:
The Dell Studio Hybrid is perfect for the user looking for a full featured media center computer that requires only a tiny bit of space.
The Good:
- Small size
- HDMI out
- Blu-ray option
The Bad:
- Fully optioned systems are expensive
- Not much upgradability
