SlingMedia has announced that its new SlingCatcher is available for purchase at retail and online. The device is a universal media player that sends all sorts of video content from the PC to your HDTV in the living room.
Using the device, you can watch video from any website, including Hulu or YouTube in your living room. The box includes a remote control and you can stream online Netflix rentals to your TV with the system as well. SlingCatcher also allows users to access anything connected to a Slingbox on the network.
“Customers have been waiting with anticipation for this product since we announced it, and I’m very pleased to say to them that the SlingCatcher has arrived,” said Blake Krikorian, co-founder and CEO of Sling Media, Inc. “Thousands of video programs are available for viewing online for free, but until now there hasn’t been an easy way to watch them on a screen larger than your laptop computer. In addition, SlingCatcher will give Slingbox customers the ability to watch their home TV on another TV, something they have been asking for since we first introduced the original Slingbox in 2005.”
