Verbatim has announced that it is the first to bring DVD+R DL LightScribe media to market. LightScribe media allows compatible DVD burners to burn a label directly onto the disk. 8x is currently the fastest DVD+R DL speed available.
The media has about twice as much storage capacity as a normal DVD with the ability to hold 8.5GB of data. The Verbatim media will be available in 10-disc spindles at unannounced pricing. LightScribe media tends to cost a bit more than normal DVDs, but they shouldn’t be particularly expensive.
LightScribe labels are a nice way to label discs so you can tell at a glance what is on them. The labeling process is similar to the burning process used to add data to the disc. You can design LightScribe labels using text or images.
