Asus unveiled the release date and the pricing for their new luxury Asus Eee PC netbook. The Asus Eee PC S101 will start shipping on November 1st for $699.
This high price for a netbook only includes the 16GB SSD drive option and not the also announced 64GB SSD configuration.
The Super Hybrid Engine (SHE), which enhances the S101's energy efficiency, gives you up to five hours of continuous work.
Other features of the S101 include 10.2 inch LED backlit screen with WSVGA resolution, ATOM CPU, 802.11n, Bluetooth 2.0, 1GB RAM, and 20GB of free online storage.
Measurements of the S101 are 264 mm (w) x 180.5 mm (d) x 18 ~ 25 mm (h) and the weight is 1kg.
I am on the fence on whether the Eee PC S101 will sell well or not. If the price comes down quickly then I see a good chance because it looks great. The Asus Eee 1000 also started at $699 in July and is now down to $485 on Amazon.com.
