Sony announced the HDR-SR12 HD camcorder at the CES 2008. The hard-drive camcorder has a big 120GB hard-drive that makes recording in full HD a reasonable endavor.
Feature highlights of the Sony HDR-SR12 include 5.6 MP ClearVid CMOS sensor, BIONZ image processor, 1920 x 1080px video capture, 10.2MP still image capture, Face Detection technology for video, hybrid recording, 120GB HDD, and 3.2" touch panel. Face detection has become a standard feature for photo cameras, but not yet for video cameras. The Sony HDR-SR12 is offering this innovation. The HDR-S12 Face Detection technology recognizes up to 8 faces anywhere in the frame and automatically controls focus, exposure, and color to help capture smiling faces brightly and clearly. Face Detection also helps make skin tones look natural without affecting other colors in the image.

Of course the Sony HDR-S12 has an HDMI port to directly view video on your Sony Bravia HDTV.
