EA and Universal Pictures announced that they would be bringing an adaptation of Army of Two to the big screen. The film will be produced by Scott Stuber and will be written by Scott Z. Burns, the co-writer of The Bourne Ultimatum. Production of the film is set to begin in 2009.
EA says that the Army of Two video game has grossed over $100 million since it was released in March of 2008. EA also has another big screen adaptation in the works based on its casual video game The Sims. I for one can’t see how you would base a movie on that game.
“ARMY OF TWO is a great project that has already attracted top name talent, and we're glad to be working with Electronic Arts on making this hit game into a film franchise,” said Donna Langley, President of Production at Universal Pictures.
