Fanatec has announced the latest addition to its line of racing simulation gear. The new item is called the Fanatec Renn Sport Cockpit that is specially designed for the force feedback effects of Fanatec racing wheels. The cockpit isn't for the faint of heart with a price tag of $995 plus shipping from Germany.

The cockpit uses a real racing seat that is fiberglass (a full carbon fiber seat is $300 more) and made extra wide. The cockpit is constructed in an aluminum roll cage. Fanatec is offering a free carbon fiber seat upgrade to the first ten orders. The seat is fully adjustable as is pedal placement and wheel angle to allow easy adjustment to the needs of the driver.

A shifter attachment is located on the right side of the cage and can be moved to the left. Optional monitor brackets for three 24-inch LCDs is available, a single 37-inch LCD, and an optional sliding drawer for a wireless keyboard. The cockpit is also prepped for a 5.1 surround sound system as well.
