Lenovo has announced its latest desktop PC called the ThinkCenter M58/M58p with Power Manager. Power Manager is a technology that allows users to control the energy consumption of the PC remotely and the new M58 systems mark the first time the technology is available. The software allows PCs to be programmed to turn off on the weekends or after hours.

The computers themselves come in three form factors including a tower, SFF, and USFF. The M58p offers the Intel vPro processing technology including a Core 2 Duo or Core 2 Quad CPU. The M58 uses the Intel Q45 chipset with ICH10-DO. The M58 will start at $499 and the M58p starts at $899.

“The ThinkCentre M58/M58p was designed specifically for the rigorous demands of large enterprises in the business and education world. The design goal for the M58/M58p was to be the greenest, most secure, most manageable and quietest ThinkCentre ever," said Dilip Bhatia, executive director, global desktop marketing, Lenovo. “Our customers will benefit from our advanced technologies such as Power Manager, support for Hardware Password Manager and other features.”
