ATEN Technology has announced a new laptop KVM switch that connects via USB. The product is compact and looks like a cable rather than what you would think of as a KVM switch. The device allows users to control two computers from the laptop.
The device features Plug-and-Play capability and provides access to USB peripherals like storage drives. The resolution of the remote desktop is changed to match the resolution of the local computer monitor. High-Speed file transfer between the two computers is allowed and no software has to be installed to use the KVM. The Laptop USB KVM is available now for $99.95 and supports Windows OS' only.
"This Laptop USB KVM brings ATEN's enterprise power to small office/home office workers who typically require access to both a personal and business PC," said John G. Owen, director of sales, ATEN Technology, Inc. "From the field force salesperson to the work-at-home parent to the IT administrator, the Laptop USB KVM can be utilized for a multitude of uses built on its file transfer capabilities -- without the overhead and expense of a network."
