The cables on earbud headsets are just a big annoyance for everybody. There is always a knot in the cables that needs sorting. There are wireless headsets, but they are usually rather big and not designed for on the go.
Gadget shop Hammacher offers the solution with the first wireless earbuds. The high price of $499.95 underlines the statement that these are the only wireless stereo earbuds on the market. These Sennheiser MX W1 are also available on Amazon.com, but the price is the same.
The earbuds have a 30' range from the transmitter, enabling you to listen to your digital audio library while exercising or doing chores without being restricted by wires.
A matchbook-sized transmitter connects to any device with a headphone jack and sends lossless 16-bit, 44 kHz digital audio, resulting in full, CD-quality sound. The transmitter scans 16 channels in less than 40 milliseconds to eliminate interference from other electronic devices and provide crisp, clear transmissions.
The earbuds and transmitter operate for five hours after a full charge, and the system comes with a pocket-sized carrying case that recharges the transmitter and earbuds up to three times before requiring a charge itself via connection to a computer or AC.
When you buy this gadget gift you help mankind to get rid of the wired earbuds. The more people buy these the cheaper and better wireless earbuds will get.
