The best of show has been crowned at SEMA 2008 in the sixth annual Gran Turismo awards. The winner will be featured in a future Gran Turismo game. Gran Turismo is the best selling franchise in the world with over 50 million titles sold. The winner of the awards was JR Rocha and his 2007 Infinity G37.
Other winners at SEMA 2008 included Best Truck/SUV to John Wargo and his 1930 Chevy; Best European Import went to Robert Gal and his Volkswagen Concept. Best Domestic Automobile went to James Shipka and his 1967 Camaro Rally Sport, and Best Hot Rod went to Jason Lavign for the Factory Five Racing 1933 hot rod.
"Since its inaugural year, the Gran Turismo Awards represent a unique collaboration between the automotive and gaming industries, honoring automotive enthusiasts for their passion and labor of love," said Kazunori Yamauchi, famed creator of the Gran Turismo franchise. "The SEMA show is a unique proving ground and we are excited to once again extend that through the Gran Turismo franchise."
