Lenovo has introduced a new portable hard drive carrying the Lenovo brand that offers users a secure way to store and transport sensitive data. The hard drive is called the ThinkPad USB Portable Secure Hard Drive and comes in 160GB and 320GB versions.

The drive features a numeric keypad that allows users to type in a pass code to access their data. The drive is less than an inch thick and is approximately the size of a 3x5 index card. The data stored on the drive is encrypted using 128-bit advanced encryption standard.

Encryption is performed in real time so there is no lag. The drives will be available this month at $179 for the 160GB version and $219 for the 320GB model. One of the best features of the drive is that it draws all the power needed for operation from the PC USB port so no power adapter is needed.
