MSI announced the Eclipse series motherboards for the new Intel Core i7 platform.
The MSI Eclipse X58 motherboard supports the latest processor Intel Core i7 with LGA1366-pin design, along with ultra-high bandwidth QPI (Quick Path Interconnect) transmission system and high-speed DDR3 memory.
For better eco-design in power-consuming, Eclipse series has further utilized and extended the second-generation DrMOS technology, which introduced exclusively by MSI since the P45 series, to the power-supply modules of the X58 chipset and DDR3 memory, improving its power efficiency more than 95%.
For better system cooling efficiency, Eclipse series comes with "Split Thermal System", which is a MSI's exclusive cooling system that isolate and separate the heat sink system between the power-supply modules of the chipset and memory with each other to control and manage the cooling performance separately utilizing the DrMOS technology.
In order to maximize service performance and provide a stable and adequate power supply environment, MSI Eclipse series has extended the application of second-generation DrMOS chip, which is recommended by Intel® for processor power supply application, from the processor power-supply module to the power modules of the chipset and memory, along with the exclusive hardware-level Active Power-phase Switching (APS) technology for better energy-saving. These groundbreaking applications are to provide stable power supply capacity required by the high bandwidth operations in the motherboard, and to save energy not just from the processor but the entire motherboard as well. MSI Eclipse series motherboard provides unprecedented quality of excellent power supply design.
MSI Eclipse series motherboard offers three selections for users to choose from: Eclipse+, Eclipse SLI, and X58 Platinum.
