Black Friday 2008 turned to Cyber Friday

Based in the initial reports the brick and mortar stores saw weaker Black Friday Sales. As I predicted already earlier this week more and more shoppers do not get out into the cold night to score a Black Friday doorbuster deal. They stay home and shop for the great deals online.
According to data just released by eBay, PayPal saw a 34% more transactions and 26% increase in online payment volume compared to Black Friday 2007.
Additionally PayPal's Payflow Gateway data shows that on Black Friday consumers are shopping the most during lunch time, with 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM being the busiest purchasing time for the past three years.
The economy might look a "bit" bleak, but retailers if they have the right online strategy like Amazon will strive this holiday season.
Cyber Monday is coming up and is supposed to be the biggest online shopping event. As it looks it really needs to be good to beat Cyber Friday.
