Nokia unveiled today their top of the line touchscreen handset with the Nokia N97. Nokia chose to offer both a touchscreen and QWERTY keyboard as input options for the Nokia N97. This is nothing new and HTC and Sony Ericsson are offering such solutions. The only way Nokia can stand out is via the user interface and online service integration like social networking.
To see the Nokia N97 in action you can watch this hands-on video on Engadget. The ability to customize the home screen and have your most important widgets displayed to be viewed at a glance is great. The N97 looks very responsive, which would be a big plus.
Nokia also published a Nokia N97 demonstration video that shows more of the user interface.
The Nokia N97 is expected to begin shipping in the first half of 2009 at an estimated retail price of EUR 550 before taxes or subsidies (~$700). More details about the Nokia N97.
