Protecting the data stored on portable and external hard drives can be a challenge. Losing confidential information from your business or home can result in theft or stolen IDs. Iomega has announced a pair of new eGo hard drives for the holiday season.
One of the drives is called the eGo Encrypt and offers 320GB of storage space that can be encrypted with hardware-based 128-bit AES. All information on the drive is encrypted for safety automatically. The other drive is the eGo BlackBelt rugged hard drive.
The drive is black on black color and offers Iomega Drop Guard Xtreme to protect the drive and the data stored on it from drops of up to 84 inches. The BlackBelt has 250Gb of storage space. The BlackBelt 250GB drive is available now and retails for $119.99. The eGo Encrypt will be available this month for $149.99.
