SRS Labs has announced a new product for iPod and iTunes called the SRS iWOW. For iTunes, the SRS iWOW Software is offered and the iPod gets the SRS iWOW Adapter. The iPod adapter is a device that plugs into the iPod dock connector and provides listeners with a simulated surround sound experience over earbuds or headphones.
The adapter promises deep bass, clear high-frequency sound, and 3D audio over the iPod for any content played. The adapter works with all iPods using the 30-pin connector. The iWOW software plug-in for iTunes does the same thing for music played on the computer and allows listeners to customize the sound with presets like rock, classical, and more. The iWOW Adapter retails for $79.99 and the iWOW software is $49.99 with a bundle of the two for $99.99.
"We are extremely proud of our new iWOW family of products," said Craig Marking, Director of Product Marketing for SRS Labs. "Our SRS audio solutions introduce listeners to a new level and quality of audio - audio that is truly immersive and natural sounding. Listeners will now hear their digitally compressed music and video files the way the producers and artists originally intended for them to be heard - with rich detail and real depth. We are certain that after just one listen, consumers will be hooked on iWOW!"
