Netgear is looking to compete better with Netflix's Roku box and the Apple TV device with a new updated media player called the EVA9150. The streaming media player really doesn’t seem to have as much to offer as the Apple TV as far as movie rentals go, but it has other nice features.
The EVA9150 Digital Entertainer Elite will pull videos from YouTube and Flickr and send them to your TV. The biggest difference between the $400 Netgear device and its competitors is that it includes a massive 500GB HDD for storing video.
The 9150 supports 1080p HD films and the hard drive can be upgraded if 500GB isn’t enough storage. I know one place that the Netflix device would be welcome in my house, Sending Hulu videos to my big screen. My son and I like to watch the A-team.
