Gigabyte has a new mobile internet device called the M528 that looks pretty slick. The machine runs on Linux and uses an Intel Atom Z500 CPU running at 800MHz along with the Intel SCH UL11L chipset. As with most MIDs, screen size is small at 4.8-inches.

That's not much larger than my iPhone screen. Resolution for the panel is 800x480 and storage is to a 4GB SSD. Other features include a QWERTY keyboard with EL backlight, integrated 802.11b/g Wi-Fi and a HSDPA mini card module.

Total system memory is 512MB and power for the device comes from a 3.7V 2700 mAh internal battery. Dimensions for the M528 are 152 x 80 x 22.5mm and it weighs 340g making it very portable. As small as the little machine is it integrates a 300l pixel webcam and offers USB ports along with a microSD card slot for memory expansion. Pricing and availability are unknown.
