At the WWDC 08 in June Apple previewed the next release of OS X Snow Leopard. An article on The Guardian suggests that Apple is faster than expected pushing out Snow Leopard and the new OS could already get a showing at the MacWorld 2009 next month.
As reported Steve Jobs will not hold the keynote, but Phil Schiller is taking over.
The reason for Apple to rush OS X Snow Leopard is supposed to be the OpenCL support and to beat Microsoft to the market with it. Windows 7 will also have OpenCL support and possibly gets released some when in 2009.
A Snow Leopard debut would be a reason again to attend MacWorld 2009 in case you cancelled already.
