Short Take: Skate It for Nintendo Wii

My wife also found the Wii Fit recently so we have the balance board lying around. When I saw that Skate It for the Wii used the balance board, I was anxious to try something that didn’t involve Yoga with the balance board.
EA released Skate It for other consoles a while back. This time around, you are in the city of San Vanelona, which was destroyed in some sort of disaster. The entire city is open to explore and skate. Career mode lets you progress and perform challenges to grow your fame.
The controls are interesting with three modes, one lets you control the game with the Wii Remote only, the other with the remote and nunchuk, and the final with the balance board and remote. The bad part about the controls is that thanks to the motion sensitive nature it can be difficult to pull the same trick twice. The mode where you trade off with other players to pull the best trick can be difficult thanks to the control issue.
Still the game is very fun, offers a use for the Balance Board beyond exercising, and gets the kids off the couch when playing. Overall, Skate It is a cool game with a few quirks that is fun to play.
Verdict: Skate It is a great skateboarding game for the Nintendo Wii that struggles a bit with controls.
