Samsung gathered a group of skydivers last week and outfitted them with several of its texting phones to attempt to set a Guinness World Record for fastest text messaging while skydiving. The professional skydivers were taken aloft and tossed out of the plane for the record setting attempt.

At an altitude of 12,000 feet, the skydivers had to accurately text a specific text message on various Samsung handsets including the Samsung Propel, Gravity, Rant, Alias, and Massager. Videographers on the ground and in the air recorded video of the texting attempt. The video has been sent to the Guinness office in London to be verified for a record.

The message the skydivers had to text would have been difficult on the ground and was verified for accuracy after the ten skydivers landed. The message texted was: "The razor-toothed piranhas of the genera Serrasalmus and Pygocentrus are the most ferocious freshwater fish in the world. In reality they seldom attack a human."
