On Christmas Day, an unknown notebook class reportedly showed up on the Sony website as a placeholder. The notebook is apparently called the P and carried the tagline "It fits in a Pocket." Specifications for the machines were questionable and most of them were outright missing. Update: Sony VAIO P officially announced
The placeholder image was that of an existing TT series notebook. According to specs the machine would use a 1.33GHz Intel CPU, Windows Vista, up to a 60GB HDD or an available 128GB SSD. Battery life was listed as up to x-hour and the starting price was $NaN.00.
Considering the key bits on battery life and price are obviously placeholders, it's hard to put faith into any of the other specs offered. The screen resolution draws some big question marks at 8-inches with a 1600 x 768 resolution. If any of this info is accurate, we should find out in a few weeks at CES. Sony is sure to be getting in on the netbook segment, perhaps some of this info points to their offering.
