Samsung’s i8510 has turned up on an FCC filing with one significant addition that will make US customers happy, support for 3G service in America. The handset features dual-band UMTS 850/1900MHz technology for use on AT&T in America and Rodgers in Canada.
Features of the camera include an 8MP camera with dual LED flash, digital image stabilization, facial recognition and more. Wi-Fi is built-in along with GPS, a microSD card slot, and some other nice features.
The handset runs on the Symbian S60 3rd edition operating system. Exactly when the handset will turn up in America and Canada and at what price is unknown. The device sounds like it packs a real camera into a cell phone housing.
