According to Boy Genius Report T-Mobile may be planning to do something for G1 owners that are seeing poor battery life from their devices. The battery life is widely held to be abysmal and the rumor has T-Mobile sending out longer run time batteries and new battery doors to every customer who has purchased a G1 to date.
The original battery was an 1150mAh unit and the new rumored extended runtime battery is pegged at 1400mAh adding 20% more capacity. BGR says that if the rumor proves true, handset owners will get a letter from the carrier before a battery tips up in the mail.
This rumor appears to not be confirmed totally, so don’t get your hopes up just yet. This would be an expensive undertaking for T-Mobile, but it would be one that addresses one of the biggest concerns that G1 shoppers likely have.
