CES 2008 had some interesting 3D demos on the video game front and CES 2009 is going to have 3D broadcast technology being shown for the first time. A company called TDVision says that it will be showing the world's first and only system that will allow the broadcast of full HD 2D/3D programming.
The system works with Blu-ray content as well. Broadcasts using the technology are up to 1920 x 108o resolution. The company will be showing its 3D technology on equipment by Texas Instruments, Mitsubishi, and XpanD.
It appears that the system requires the use of glasses and the technology can be integrated into the Xbox 360 for 3D gaming and PC monitors. I hope that as technology progresses the use of 3D glasses will be lessened.
