As reported a month ago, Palm will unveil their next generation Palm OS dubbed Nova at the CES 2009. New rumors emerged about the new Palm smartphone that will run Nova. Apparently it will have a touchscreen with a slide-out full QWERTY keyboard.
TechCrunch reports that the new Palm Smartphone would have the usual portrait orientation of the touchscreen and the keyboard would slide out below. HTC and others have smartphones where the QWERTY keyboard slides out to the side, which offers more space for a keyboard layout.
As I wrote many times already I do not see a future for the Palm OS. I would have preferred Palm to jump on the Android or Windows platform (which they do already) and kill off Palm OS, as it has no desktop presence.
