Steve Jobs may not be on hand at MacWorld this year, but Microvision will be with a pre-production version of its cool Pico Projector. The company says that the projector that it will show at MacWorld is 25% smaller than its previous SHOW prototype.
The new version is called SHOW WX and can display DVD quality video at screen sizes up to 100-inches across. The projector can also show images as small as 6-inches across. The new case is 118 x 60 x 14-mm, about the size of a mobile phone.
Battery life for the projector is said to be up to 2 hours and it uses the 16:9 aspect ratio. Microvision says that the projector is slated to ship starting in Q2 2009 with mass quantities shipping in the second half of 2009.
