There have not been just winners at the CES 2009. We saw many great new announcements but also we have to live with CES 2009 disappointments.
Lets look at the losers of CES 2009 an there are plenty of them. Some of the disappointments are sure to blame on the recession, others are broken promises anyway you turn it.
See our picks of the Top 5 CES 2009 losers below.
Top 5 Losers of CES 2009:
1. Android Phones
There were just no new Android smartphones leaving it all to the new Palm Pre.
2. OLED TVs
There have been no new OLED TVs announced that will actually ship in 2009. Sony showed again the XEL-1 at the CES 2009. The 11 inch OLED TV is still the only OLED TV on the market and it looks like no company is willing to change that in 2009. On display at the CES were only concepts. Yes there are thin, bendable and ultra bright screens, but as long as I cannot buy them it is the same old story we have been hearing for years.
3. LimePC
LimePC showed a an iPod nano sized Linux PC at the CES 2008 based on Freescale's motherboard-on-a-chip. At the CES 2009 that mobile LimePC grew in size to be as big as about an iPhone and lost all its coolness.
4. Zii
Creative's ZiiLabs unveiled Zii StemCell Computing Platform promising incredible benefits of nano-sized super computing. That sounds so nice, but where is the actual gadget?
5. Asus Eee PC T91
The highly anticipated touchscreen netbook T91 from Asus looks great, but it is just a prototype.
