Google announced to lay off 100 recruiters and wind down almost all contracts with external recruiting services.
Google says that they are still hiring, but at the reduced rate. Google has been a huge hiring machine in the last years. Even without the economic crisis this could not go on forever.
Like many companies that are actually doing well, Google is using the economic downturn to adjust its company that also often requires lay-offs.
