Sony unveiled its slick looking VAIO P at CES last week. I had a chance to look at the little netbook and play with it a bit. The 8-inch screen is strange, being longer than the typical 8-inch netbook display. However, the keyboard seemed decent enough and you can't knock how small the little rig is.
One of the things I didn’t like about the U.S. version of the P was the very pokey Atom running a meek 1.3GHz. I can only assume Sony opted for the slow Atom for its battery extending power needs. If buyers in the UK feel the same about the 1.3GHz Atom, they are in luck because Sony offers the faster Atom Z530 at 1.6GHz.
Exactly why Sony offers the faster processor in the UK and not here in America is unknown. Come on Sony, Americans like more powerful CPUs too. Honestly, the high resolution on the small screen is likely to be the worst part for most considering the VAIO P, and the high price.
