Verizon Wireless is getting closer to launching its slick looking hub deskphone. I will say that the phone looks cool with the removable handset and a LCD screen that displays things like time, weather, and other notifications.
The screen will also support images that users want to add in digital picture frame style. Not much is known about the device at the time. The screen is touch capable and a stylus is included. Naturally, the device will require a 2-year contract. From the looks of it, the contract will still require a fee to get the device.
I use a cell phone exclusively and I can see the appeal of a dedicated deskphone. That said, I don’t see the appeal of something like this if the price is too high. I am thinking if it creeps up into smartphone territory, the product will be a bust. Keep it around $50 to $100 and it might work.
