CNN has a very cool project that uses Microsoft's Photosynth to generate a detailed 3D space of the photos Inauguration attendees send in.
The moment that will be captured is when Barack Obama is putting his hands on the Bible to take the presidential oath at 12pm ET.
If you are lucky enough to be close enough to see Obama you should take one photo of the moment when Obama takes the oath. If you have a digital camera with a zoom lens, take three photos (wide-angle, mid-zoom, full-zoom). Email each photo to themoment@cnn.com. Photosynth into a three-dimensional, 360-degree experience allowing anyone viewing your Photosynth to be in your shoes as you explore the location in the photos. Photosynth allows the viewer to look up and down as well as the pan from left to right. Viewers can also zoom in and out to reveal a full sense of the location in the photos.
Photosynth analyzes each photo for similarities to others uploaded and it uses that data to estimate where a photo was taken and recreates the environment to display the photos.
