If you have always had a hankering for a SSD inside your notebook, the good news is that SSD options are getting somewhat cheaper today. Dell announced last week that it would be offering SSD options on its M1330 and M1730 XPS machines.
Dell was the first to offer the Samsung 256GB SSD using MLC technology. The best news for users wanting to add the SSD to their next laptop is that Dell is only asking a $400 premium for the SSD. It wasn't so long ago that a SSD option from Dell could run you twice that amount.
Laptop points out that pricing from Lenovo for a smaller 64GB SSD is up to $500. That makes Dell's option a virtual steal. Personally, I'd still go for a normal HDD and pocket the difference for something else, like an additional battery.
