CasaTunes has unveiled its latest whole home audio server called the CasaTunes XL Music Server. The device integrates advanced DVD-audio quality with a multi-room hardware switch to enable music output to up to 48 rooms.
The music server integrates the CasaTunes Software, a 250GB HDD, touch screen control and up to nine sources of music depending on the model used. Set up requires answering a few questions about the home setup and using one or more multi-channel amps. Music can be added to the server from CDs via iTunes, Windows Media Player and from the Internet.
The system supports playback from the iPhone and iPods, AM/FM tuners, CDs, satellite radio and supports doorbell and paging functions. The XL Music Server starts at $1,499 and is compatible with keypads that will be available later this year.
