T-Mobile USA has revealed the number of subscribers its service had at the end of 2008. Along with the subscriber numbers, the cellular company announced its financial results for Q4 2008 and the entire 2008 year.
T-Mobile says that it added 621,000 new customers in Q4 2008 compared to 670,000 new customers in Q3 2008. T-Mobile says that the gross number of new customers for 2008 was offset by higher churn rates. New customers totaled 267,000 in Q4 2008.
New customers to its pre-paid service numbered 355,000 in Q4 2008 compared to 377,000 the previous quarter. T-Mobile says that thanks to the G1 and other 3G enabled devices 40% of the phones sold on contracts were converged with over half of them 3G enabled.
