NBC apparently has to make sure the world believes the record $3m price tags for the Super Bowl 43 commercials in the light of the current economic crisis.
According to the Mercury News NBC told reporters that many Super Bowl Ads sold for the $3m price tag that has been talked about since last year. NBC at least got $2.4m for each 30 second spot. The lowest price was paid by Anheuser-Bush as they bought Super Bowl Ad spots in bulk.
NBC sold 85% before September 2008, before the economic crisis really started to hit home. Still, Super Bowl is the best way to reach the most households in the United States. Companies who can afford to advertise in time of crisis will earn the rewards when people have money again. They will also take whatever money they have left now.
Adage argues the $3m price tag is a bargain for a Super Bowl Ad.

Super Bowl 2009 will be happening on Sunday February 1st. This Super Bowl is a treat for geeks that is why we will cover it even more than in 2008.
