Discounts Get Bigger at Circuit City

The company in charge of liquidating the inventory of defunct electronics giant Circuit City says that discounts will be getting bigger as the remaining inventory is cleared from warehouses. According to the firm, a record number of shoppers have been to the store and so far discounts have been as high as 40%.
Great American Group, the company liquidating the products, says that discounts on all plasma TVs will now be 25% off the original price. Discounts on brand name LCD TVs will be 20% and car audio components will be discounted by 40%.
In addition to big electronic devices, smaller items like video games, MP3 players, DVDs, and CDs will be discounted as well. since the liquidation sale started on January 17th over $450 million of the $1.7 billion in merchandise in Circuit City warehouses has been sold. New merchandise should be on most store shelves by today says the company.
