Bridgestone Invents new ultra-thin Displays

Bridgestone known for Car Tires is entering the display market with new proprietary technology.
Technology that Bridgestone uses in tire manufacturing help create liquid powder displays as thin as 0.25 millimeter. Those are much thinner than liquid crystal displays (LCDs) and plasma displays.
The first commercial application of the black and white displays with a screen size of 4.5 inches and thickness of 1 mm will be electronic tag displaying prices, product names and other information such as photos of where the product was made. Production starts end of 2005.
